kuruba - ST status...

Social and economic condition of kuruba as a whole can be bifurcated into 3 types 1. Rich and affluent
2. middle class, educated, working class, small farmer
3. uneducated, marginal farmer, sheep rearing wanderer, wandering tribe.. Innocent kuruba especially of north karnataka...

Now if u look at the 3 groups the rich and affluent consists of less of 5 % of the kuruba and the middle class, educated, employees, small farmer consist of about 15 to 20% of the Kuruba and the underprivileged uneducated, marginal farmer, sheep rearing wanderers constitute to around 75 to 80% of the Kuruba... Kuruba community is one of the lowest literate community in karnataka and India.. We have exposure with the first group and little exposure with the second group too and hence feel that kuruba is well off But Out of sight.... is Out of Mind 3rd group the major chunk of kuruba are the most under privileged people in karnataka and India.. Today even if u take dalits the three groups exist within them too but still they have constitutional protection for them in jobs and education...

The 75 to 80% kuruba social, economical, educational conditions is very bad and are not getting the due attention that is needed for them to get into mainstream and Our community as a whole does'nt have capabilities to take care of our brothers n sisters by ourselves too without constitutional intervention since we dont have enough political empowerment..

Hence if we exclude the first 2 groups of our community and in the interest of the 3rd group which is underprivileged it is imperative that we all fight for ST (Schedule Tribe ) status for Kuruba ... Few positive indicators are there where in if we fight for it there is every possibility that ST status can be given to Our community and that will lead to overall development of our people who are under privileged.. Hence Kurubara Sene has to think of How we can be a pressure point by taking this issue forward to see that the underprivileged rural kuruba benefit..

Kurubara Sene will be actively involved in taking this issue forward in the best interest of our community..

Jai Kuruba .. Jai kurubara Sene....

If i had a Name it would be 'Kuruba', Since i am a proud Kuruba, I dont need a Name " Since Kuruba is an Identity for me and all who share that identity share My Name.. Jai Kuruba....

Kuruba- the catalyst

Kuruba should be the catalyst in consolidation of Ahinda.. Since Kuruba means trustworthy and all communities trust Kuruba every kuruba should try to bring other OBC/dalit/minorities within their sphere of influence like near your House or office etc and educate them i.e ahinda to consolidate to empower ourselves politically.. Then Kuruba will be seen as a leaders by all Ahinda communities .. Then we grow Socially and when we grow we should take all communities along with us and not make them followers.. They should feel that Kuruba have empowered them unlike other dominant communities who use them to get political mileage.. Lets all try this in a small way in your surroundings..

jai kuruba .. Jai Ahinda... Jai kurubara Sene....
